Our Year 10 Functional Skills students recently enjoyed an exciting and engaging educational visit, where they explored how a world-famous brand creates, markets and advertises its products.
Throughout the day, students saw first-hand how many of the English skills they have been developing in class are used in the real world. From analysing persuasive advertising techniques and product branding to understanding how companies communicate with their customers, the visit helped bring classroom learning to life in a fun and memorable way.
Students learned about the journey from product creation to marketing, discovering how businesses use language, images and media to promote their products and attract consumers. The experience provided valuable opportunities to apply their reading, speaking and listening skills in a practical context.
A highlight of the trip was the immersive 4D cinema experience, which added an extra element of excitement to the day. Of course, no visit would have been complete without sampling some delicious chocolate along the way, something that proved very popular with our students!
It was wonderful to see students demonstrating enthusiasm, curiosity and excellent engagement throughout the visit. The trip provided a perfect blend of learning and enjoyment, helping students to recognise the importance of English skills beyond the classroom while creating plenty of happy memories.
Well done to all students who represented the school so positively and made the most of this fantastic opportunity.
