Home Learning and Remote Education

At Mill House School, we are committed to ensuring continuity of education for all our students, even in the event of a snow day or other unforeseen closure.

In the event of remote learning being required the Mill House will strive to work with our families to deliver our curriculum which will allow children to keep learning while they are at home.

Below, you will find important information about our remote learning provision.

Notification:

  • We aim to notify parents via email by approximately 7:45am (one hour before the school opens) on the affected day.
  • If parents are not contacted, they should assume the school is open as usual.
  • Updates will also be posted on the school website.

Learning Material for Students:

Expectations for Students:

  • Engagement: Students are encouraged to access the learning material for the courses they are studying and complete work to the best of their ability.
  • Well-being: We understand that working from home may present challenges. Students should take regular breaks and maintain a balance between schoolwork and relaxation.

Support for Families:

  • We recognise that every family’s circumstances are different.
  • If families experience any difficulty accessing resources or require additional support during a closure, please contact the school office via email, and we will do our best to assist you.

Government Resource List:

Medical or Local Authority Isolation:

  • Where pupils are required to be educated at home due to medical isolation or by agreement with the referring local authority, we provide education packs of work so that pupils can continue with their learning at home.
