At Mill House, we recently took part in activities designed to support students’ wellbeing, emotional literacy, and personal development.
Students and staff helped raise awareness by wearing green and participating in a range of personal development activities throughout the day. As part of this focus, our Year 7 students completed a special reading challenge aimed at fostering a love of reading while encouraging them to explore and understand emotions.
Using a variety of texts, including stories, poetry, and non-fiction, students discussed how characters experience, express, and manage different feelings. These activities provided valuable opportunities for reflection and helped students develop the skills needed to better recognise, understand, and communicate their own emotions.
Reading can be a powerful tool for supporting wellbeing, and we are proud of the thoughtful engagement shown by our students throughout the challenge.
Well done to all involved for embracing the activities and contributing to such a positive and meaningful experience.
