This week, our Year 8 students enjoyed another heartwarming visit to Bablake Care Home, where they continued to build meaningful connections with residents through a range of engaging activities.
Students took part in the weekly exercise session, supporting residents during a tai chi class. They encouraged participation, modelled movements, and helped create an inclusive and welcoming environment for everyone involved. A particularly memorable moment came when Joseph confidently demonstrated his tai chi skills, earning a fantastic round of applause from the residents—an uplifting experience that clearly boosted his confidence.
Beyond the exercise session, students spent time playing games using balloons and balls, helping to develop coordination and bring fun into the space. Music also played a big part in the visit, with students and residents sharing favourite songs and even enjoying a dance together.
The atmosphere throughout the morning was truly joyous, filled with laughter, warmth, and connection. Our students demonstrated empathy, patience, and enthusiasm, making a genuine difference to the residents’ day.
Visits like these continue to show the value of community engagement and the powerful impact young people can have when given the opportunity to connect, support, and bring positivity to others.
