On 8th October 2026, students and staff across Mill House School came together to take part in an exciting GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS™ attempt as part of the National Year of Reading and its annual #Take10toRead campaign.
The challenge aimed to set a new world record for “the most people reading together online over 12 hours.” Alongside schools, organisations and readers from across the country, our students proudly contributed to what was a fantastic celebration of reading and literacy.
The event highlighted the importance of making time for reading, whether for learning, enjoyment or relaxation. It was wonderful to see the whole school united by a shared love of stories, books and knowledge, demonstrating that reading is a skill that benefits everyone, regardless of age or interest.
Taking part in a national event of this scale gave students an opportunity to feel part of something bigger while reinforcing the message that reading can open doors to new ideas, experiences and opportunities.
We are incredibly proud of all our students for taking part with such enthusiasm and are now eagerly awaiting the official results.
