To celebrate World Read Aloud Day, our school took part in a shared reading experience that highlighted the joy of storytelling and international collaboration. Students focused on the traditional folk tale Jack and the Beanstalk, bringing the story to life in creative and engaging ways.
KS3 students adapted the tale into a play script and performed it aloud, while KS4 students read the story aloud in full. These readings were recorded and shared with our partner school in Morocco, strengthening our global connections through a shared love of reading.
In return, students in Morocco sent us videos of themselves reading aloud extracts from their favourite books, as well as thoughtful book reviews. This exchange celebrated reading for pleasure, cultural exchange, and the power of stories to connect students across the world.
