To celebrate LGBT+ History Month, our school delivered a range of meaningful learning opportunities focused on understanding, inclusion, and lived experience. Students took part in an online virtual session delivered by Just Like Us, where they had the chance to speak with real people from the LGBT+ community, ask questions, and learn key facts about LGBT+ history.
This was supported by a themed personal development session, where students heard powerful stories about how historic laws and policies—such as Section 28 and the former ban on being gay in the military—have affected people’s lives. These sessions encouraged reflection, empathy, and a deeper understanding of why LGBT+ History Month remains important today.
