On Wednesday this week, Year 9 students visited Bablake House to spread New Year cheer and bring a bit of extra sparkle to the residents’ day. It was fantastic to watch the young men get stuck in, hoovering, scrubbing marks off the carpet, and helping with general cleaning—no job was too big or small!
Alongside their hard work, the students served tea, coffee, and biscuits, chatting with residents and building genuine connections. Conversations ranged from shared stories and memories to discussions about planes and photography, creating lots of smiles and laughter along the way.
Once everything was cleaned and tidied, the students stepped back and admired the difference they had made, leaving both the house and the residents feeling cared for and appreciated. It was a truly rewarding visit, and the energy, enthusiasm, and kindness of the students made it a special experience for everyone involved.
