This week, our students had the opportunity to put their independence and life skills to the test with a trip to the cinema to watch The Wild Robots. More than just an enjoyable outing, this experience was designed to help them develop key personal skills, including financial awareness, decision-making, and navigation.
Before the trip, students were encouraged to plan their spending, ensuring they could budget for snacks while managing their own money. At the shopping centre, they took responsibility for finding their way, reading signs, and working together to reach their destination.
For many, this was a chance to build confidence in real-world settings, practicing valuable skills that will serve them well in everyday life. Watching them take ownership of their decisions, support each other, and engage with the experience was a pleasure.
Well done to all our students for embracing the challenge with enthusiasm!
