Our Year 11 students recently had the fantastic opportunity to take part in a work experience visit to The Herbert Museum in Coventry. The visit gave them an insight into the daily operations of a cultural institution and the wide variety of careers available within the creative and heritage sectors.
During their time at the museum, students worked alongside the education and exhibitions teams, learning about the curation of exhibitions, and customer service roles. They also gained hands-on experience supporting activities for visiting schools and members of the public.
The experience not only helped develop key employability skills — such as teamwork, communication, and problem-solving — but also broadened the students’ understanding of the creative industries and sparked new interests in potential future pathways.
A big thank you to the staff at The Herbert Museum for making our students feel welcome and providing such a valuable and inspiring experience.
