It’s been a busy and flavoursome week in our food technology lessons!
Our Year 8 students have been mastering the art of Chinese cookery by preparing their own chicken chow mein. From safe knife skills to stir-frying techniques, they explored both the practical and cultural elements of this popular dish. The classroom was filled with delicious aromas, and many students were proud to take home their finished meals to share.
Over in Year 9, students have been learning how to make quiche from scratch. This included preparing shortcrust pastry and understanding the science behind baking. The activity offered a fantastic opportunity to build confidence in the kitchen and develop essential life skills – all while producing something genuinely tasty!
It’s great to see our students gaining independence, creativity, and enjoyment through food.
