On Friday, a group of Mill House School students enjoyed an unforgettable visit to Silverstone Race Track, taking part in a STEM-rich day exploring the science and engineering behind Formula 1.
The day began with a fantastic session led by Connie, who guided students through the complex engineering involved in designing and running a Formula 1 car. Pupils examined engines and tyres up close, learning about the effects of heat, friction and performance at high speeds. They also had the opportunity to race around a scale track, testing their competitive instincts and problem-solving skills.
Students then explored the Silverstone Museum, where interactive exhibits brought motorsport history, science and engineering to life. The visit concluded with the OVA Screen 4D experience — an immersive and memorable end to an already action-packed day.
Our students were exceptional throughout the trip and were wonderful ambassadors for Mill House School. Their enthusiasm was clear in comments such as “I don’t want to leave,” “Can we do this every year?” and “This is the best trip ever.” We are incredibly proud of them and the way they embraced every opportunity to learn.
