As part of our continued focus on promoting kindness and raising awareness around anti-bullying, our school is delighted to be taking part in Odd Socks Day on Friday 21st November.
During the past week, pupils have been engaging in a variety of activities exploring how we can respect one another, recognise individuality, and help create an environment where everyone feels safe and valued. This learning will continue throughout the week and remain a core part of our school ethos all year round.
On Wednesday 12th, our pupils also took part in engaging virtual sessions with Just Like Us, an organisation dedicated to supporting inclusive education. These sessions offered valuable insights into allyship, respect and celebrating difference.
What is Odd Socks Day?
Odd Socks Day is a simple but powerful way to celebrate what makes each of us unique. Children (and staff!) are invited to wear odd socks for the day—no special clothes or purchases needed. It’s all about expressing individuality and spreading the message that being different is something to be proud of.
Some schools choose to make a small donation on the day to support national anti-bullying initiatives, but this is completely optional. The focus of Odd Socks Day is, above all, the message:
Be yourself. Be kind. Celebrate others.
Last year, millions of children and hundreds of workplaces took part, helping to shine a light on the importance of preventing bullying in a fun and memorable way.
We look forward to seeing the bright, creative, and wonderfully mismatched socks on Friday as we continue working together to build a positive and inclusive school community.
