Our Year 11 students recently enjoyed two exciting, hands-on sessions delivered by Chantelle and Jordan from The King’s Trust, focused on developing personal resilience and key life skills.
Throughout the workshops, students took part in a range of interactive activities designed to help them reflect on their own strengths, recognise changes in their emotions, and develop strategies to adapt positively to challenges. They played resilience-based games, discussed how different scenarios made them feel, and considered how their reactions can influence outcomes in both school and life beyond.
A highlight of the day was the bridge-building challenge, where students worked in teams to design and construct a bridge made entirely from paper and tape — strong enough to hold a car! The activity encouraged creative thinking, problem-solving, teamwork and perseverance, and it was fantastic to see the enthusiasm and competitive spirit on display.
These sessions provided valuable opportunities for students to develop essential skills that support both their wellbeing and their future success. We’d like to say a huge thank you to Chantelle and Jordan for their time and energy, and well done to Year 11 for engaging so positively throughout.
